As a CBL Operator we give you all the support that you will need to be successful from the very start. All you have to do is go out and recruit sponsors and players for your league and/or semi-pro team. We are confident in our system because we only allow a LIMITED! number of people to start a CBL operation per year.
In 1996 Jamar Johnson, Chief Commissioner and CEO of the Community Basketball Leagues, created the concept of having a professionally structured basketball league for amateur adult players. The first CBL league was officially launched in 2008 in Elkhart, IN, a city that had 18 to 22% unemployment and is the hometown of the CBL Chief Commissioner. At the start of the 2009 CBL adult league there was a waiting list of thirty-two players! Even in one of the country's worst economies the CBL was a smash hit and soon there was a demand by others to bring the CBL to their cities.
The CBL Operator program is the answer to that demand and it is an opportunity for others to get into a professional sports business. It does not matter what your professional or career background may be in because the CBL operator program and operations manual and training classes will provide you with everything you need to be successful. The only thing the CBL requires from its operators is a passion for basketball, a desire to do something positive in their community, and a desire to be successful in life and business.
Today the CBL has several leagues and services within the program to make you money and help you achieve the financial indepence and business success that you desire. The CBL youth league is for boys and girls ages six through sixteen, the CBL adult league is for men and women ages seventeen and up, and the CBL Exposure League is for players that are looking for a semi-pro and an exposure experience.
"This is not a scenario where if you build it the players will come ..... the players are already there!"~ Jamar Johnson, Chief Commissioner of the CBL
